Ingredients

  • 1 LB Brussel Sprouts
  • 2 TSP Garlic Powder
  • 2 TSP Onion Powder
  • Salt and Pepper To Taste
  • 8 Strips Thick-Cut Bacon
  • 1 Small Yellow Onion Finely Diced
  • Balsamic Glaze Store Bought
  • 2 TSP Avocado Oil
  • 1 Juice from 1 Lemon
  • Parmesan and Goat Cheese For Garnish (optional)
  • Tri-Color Sesame Seeds For Garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Trim off the edge of the stem of the Brussels and slice in half or in quarters by slicing each half in half. Rinse and strain them and place them in a large bowl. Add your garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and avocado to the bowl. Toss them and coat them well. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, add your chopped bacon and place over medium heat. Cook the bacon until browned and remove with a slotted spoon and set aside on a paper towel to drain.
  • In that same skillet add your Brussel sprouts and crank the heat up to medium-high heat. Cook the Brussels in the bacon fat and sear for 3-4 minutes or until a nice brown sear is present on one side. Add in your onions and continue to cook for 4-5 minutes until the onions get tender and slightly translucent. Add in a few tablespoons of your balsamic glaze and half your bacon. Toss well and place into a 450-degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and top with lemon juice, more balsamic glaze, and the remaining bacon. Garnish with fresh shredded parmesan cheese or goat cheese and try colored sesame seeds. SERVE and ENJOY!
