What will I need for this recipe?

Bacon – Bacon is sweet, smoky, and salty so it will always add more flavor into your dish! I like to cook it in the oven so that it is nice and crispy. You can also save your bacon grease to cook with later!

Cream Cheese – Cream cheese makes up the base of this dip because it is slightly salty and sweet. I used a regular cream cheese but you can also use other flavors of it such as garlic and herb to change up the dish a bit.

Mayo – The mayo will add a bit of tanginess and sweetness to this dip.

Sour Cream – The sour cream pairs well with the mayo and will also add a milky rich flavor.

Jalapeños – This dip is a spin off of a jalapeño popper but you can use a hotter pepper if you would like such as Serrano peppers.

Cheese – This dip includes cheddar and Monterey or Pepper Jack. You can’t go wrong by adding any cheese that you want! The pepper jack will make your dip a bit more spicy so if you are worried about the heat then use Monterey jack cheddar.

Seasonings – This dip uses salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to bring more flavor.

Garnish – the garnish is optional but for presentation you can add fresh chives or green onions. Also, use some of the extra jalapeños and cheese!

How to make Jalapeño Popper Dip?

Crisp the Bacon

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Place your bacon on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Place bacon in the oven and cook 15-20 minutes or until slightly crisp. If using the stove, place on a non stick skillet over medium high heat. Cook in batches until crispy or about 8 minutes. Drain on a paper towel lined plate and then chop into bits.

Mix the dip

In a large bowl, add your cream cheese, mayo, sour cream, your seasoning, most of the jalapeños, most of the bacon, and 8 oz of each of the cheeses. Transfer the mixture to a small oven safe skillet or baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheeses on top, cooked bacon, and jalapeños.

Bake and Serve

Bake at 375 degrees F until the dip is golden and bubbly. This should take 15-20 minutes. You can broil the last few minutes to get the cheese more golden. Slice a baguette while the dip is baking and toast in the oven until golden and crisp. Garnish the dip with fresh chives or green onions and serve with the baguettes or tortilla chips.
